Contrary to what most people believe, there are 30 recognized Durio species in the world with over 300 varieties in Indonesia and 100 in Thailand and Malaysia. They are best known for their distinctively large size, thorn-covered rind, and strong odor. Although the strong odor is a deterrent to some, it still has a delicious taste to it!

I was able to enjoy this with my good friend and colleague Timothy Boettcher who finds this unique fruit tasty as well.
