AvePoint Enhances End User Content Management with New Release of DocAve Governance Automation
The latest DocAve Governance Automation release features migration as a managed service, extends site information cards to hybrid environments, and harnesses the power of third-party workflows
Jersey City, New Jersey — October 27, 2015 — AvePoint, the established leader in enabling enterprise collaboration across platforms and devices, today announced the general availability of DocAve Governance Automation Service Pack (SP) 6. With this release, IT can involve content owners in SharePoint migrations, provide users with important site information across hybrid environments, and better integrate with existing business processes through the use of third-party workflows.
With DocAve Governance Automation, organizations can provide end users with a business-centric, role-based service catalog for provisioning, restructuring, moving, or migrating content across SharePoint versions, sites, and deployments. DocAve Governance Automation easily manages lifecycle and permissions management requests, and transcends the capabilities of rigid provisioning and security management solutions. New features for DocAve Governance Automation SP 6 include:
User Driven Migration: Organizations can now transform SharePoint migrations to into a managed service. Through automated election processes and tasks, IT administrators can better determine the scope of the migration project by identifying content owners and allowing them to request content to be migrated. In addition to reducing the burden on IT, DocAve Governance Automation enables those who are closest to the content to determine the value and sensitivity of existing information before migrating it to SharePoint 2013, Office 365, or a hybrid deployment.
Site Information Card Hybrid Support: Site Information Cards now support hybrid environments, allowing users to access important site information – such as site contact, lease quota, and available DocAve Governance Automation services – directly within the SharePoint interface both in the cloud and on-premises.
Third-Party Workflow Integration: IT administrators can now integrate third-party workflow solutions – including Nintex and K2 – into DocAve Governance Automation. This allows organizations to utilize their workflow provider of choice to automate change management and approval for submitted requests, as well as closely align Governance Automation configurations with existing business processes.
“As organizations continue to rely on SharePoint as a business-critical collaboration system across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, the need to automate and enforce data governance strategies is more prevalent than ever,” said George Petrou, Chief Technical Officer, AvePoint. “With the latest updates to DocAve Governance Automation, IT can better align business processes with the users they support both within existing SharePoint environments and when transitioning to a new version of the platform.”
DocAve Governance Automation SP 6 is generally available today, October 27, 2015. For more information on the new features, please visit our website.
