AvePoint Wins Third Consecutive Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in 2016
AvePoint named Microsoft 2016 Partner of the Year for Technology for Good Citizenship, as well as selected as a finalist for Partner of the Year Award for Public Sector – Government
AvePoint (NASDAQ: AVPT), the global leader in data security, governance, and resilience, announced today that it has won the 2016 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in Technology for Good Citizenship due to its work with Microsoft and the International Organization for Migrations (IOM) to develop 6Degree.org, the first-ever Azure-based crowd funding portal to help human trafficking victims in ASEAN countries. Its third consecutive years Microsoft Partner of the Year Award – including wins in 2015 for Collaboration and Content and 2014 for Public Safety and National Security – AvePoint continues to be recognized for excellence in innovation and implementation of solutions based on Microsoft technology.
“With nearly 21 million victims of human trafficking– one-third of which are children – and only 3,000 cases reported to authorities annually, AvePoint, Microsoft, and IOM saw a clear opportunity to use technology to combat a serious global issue,” said Dr. Tianyi (TJ) Jiang, AvePoint Co-CEO and Co-Founder, AvePoint. “It was an honor to collaborate on a solution that fights back against human trafficking while supporting victims in need of help, and we greatly appreciate Microsoft’s recognition through the Partner of the Year Award for Technology for Good Citizenship.”
Awards were presented in several categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 2,500 entrants from 119 countries worldwide. AvePoint was recognized for providing outstanding solutions and services in Technology for Good Citizenship for its work on 6Degree.org. The Microsoft Azure-based, scalable cloud solution utilizes technology to crowdsource funds to aid victims – including costs for safe accommodation, medical or legal assistance, return travel, education or skills development, job placement, or help establishing a small business. The solution leverages Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online for all donation tracking and Microsoft SharePoint for front-end donor engagement. Users can also follow the journey of each trafficking victim through an interactive map built on top of Microsoft’s Bing Maps.
“We are honored to recognize AvePoint as this year’s winner of the 2016 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Technology for Good Citizenship,” said Gavriella Schuster, general manager, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft Corp. “AvePoint is a prime example of the excellent talent we see in our Microsoft partner community to deliver innovative and transformative solutions to our mutual customers.”
The Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions during the past year. AvePoint’s finalist acknowledgement for the 2016 Microsoft Partner of Year Award for Public Sector – Government is due to its ability to provide innovative and unique products, solutions, and services to government organizations, including federal, state, and local agencies.
