Today we completed our acquisition of Torsion, a SaaS software provider specializing in data access governance for Microsoft 365. Founded in 2016 and based in the United Kingdom, Torsion helps organizations address Microsoft 365 data access governance.
Torsion automatically monitors and controls who can access what data. This happens in real-time, allowing businesses to stay secure and comply with data rules and regulations, while still enabling their teams to work together effectively. A former member of the CyberTech 100 and winner of Computing Security’s cybersecurity compliance award, Torsion seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
This acquisition strengthens AvePoint’s Control Suite by extending proven, real-time data access governance and empowerment of data owners to more customers, including those that need comprehensive, cost-effective data governance solutions.
Today, AvePoint customers who want to involve non-IT data owners in an automated governance process (as Gartner describes in their “Adaptive Data Governance” model) use our Cloud Governance, Policies, and Insights solutions. While extremely powerful and flexible, these enterprise-grade solutions require an investment in time and strategy that can be daunting for organizations who may be newer to establishing data governance practices. Torsion’s automation features make data governance simpler, making it more suitable for organizations with limited IT resources. This creates more possibilities for us to deliver and grow our data governance solutions to a wider range of businesses worldwide.
We are grateful to our customers, investors, partners and team for choosing to trust and support us on our journey. If you are an existing Torsion customer, you can expect the same dedicated support and service you receive today.
As our teams come together, we will align and focus our work on your top challenges and needs. For those who are not yet our customers, contact our team today to learn how we can address your data governance needs. We look forward to sharing more details with you about the exciting new features, enhancements, and integrations to deliver more impactful data governance solutions in the coming months.
