Here at AvePoint, we’re committed to giving back. This year, we’re taking that commitment to a whole new level with the launch of AvePoint Philanthropy – which serves to impact humanity and drive change through technology, community, and education. From our work with Microsoft and the International Organization for Migration (IoM) to combat human trafficking through 6Degree.org to our Global Outreach initiative of community volunteering across our 29 offices, our giving back takes many forms. Today, we’re proud to share a new addition to AvePoint Philanthropy as we launch our first-ever software donation program for not-for-profit organizations.

Announcing Our First-Ever Software Donation Program

Starting today, we are donating software to qualified, North America-based not-for-profit organizations to help them with Microsoft Office 365 migration and management. For this initiative, we have partnered with TechSoup, a worldwide not-for-profit organization that strives to improve lives on both a local and global level by offering transformative technology solutions. With this program, we aim to help not-for-profits spend less time migrating to and managing Office 365 so they can focus more on what matters most: their mission and making the world a better place.

Qualified organizations can now receive the following donations through TechSoup:

Office 365 and SharePoint Migration: Not-for-profits are eligible to receive software for Office 365 and SharePoint migration in the form of AvePoint’s DocAve Migrator. Docave Migrator supports all migration stages by providing assessment, planning, and reporting capabilities to more easily move content from legacy systems to Office 365, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business or the latest SharePoint version with minimal business disruption. Those organizations that qualify can receive up to 250 gigabytes of free data migration software with additional migration available at a discounted rate.

Office 365 Management: Eligible not-for-profits will also be provided with AvePoint Online Services for Office 365 Management, which makes for simpler management, movement, and maintenance of mission-critical content. AvePoint Online Services is a trusted, Azure-powered Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution supporting more than 21,000 customers worldwide. AvePoint Online Services provides not-for-profits with better control over Office 365 security, settings, configurations, and content in addition to enhanced features for content migration, synchronization across tenants, and reporting.

Giving Back Around the Globe through Community Volunteering and Education

Across the company, we’re committed to AvePoint Philanthropy’s mission to support the local communities where we operate. In addition to donating our software, we’re continuing to expand our Global Outreach program. Whether it be in the form of book drives for local children’s hospitals or lending a hand to local Salvation Army after-school programs, neighborhood soup kitchens, or other humanitarian aid organizations, our goal is to leave a global footprint when it comes to charity and volunteer work. To learn more about where we’re lending a hand, visit our Global Outreach page.

Another key component of the AvePoint Philanthropy initiative is education. We’re passionate about educating people around the world on the benefits of technology and the opportunities it provides. Just recently, our Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Technical Officer for AvePoint Public Sector Dux Raymond Sy, traveled to Destiny Village Boarding School in Kampala, Uganda last year to teach an introductory web development course to 50 underprivileged students with help from not-for-profit partner WorldHelp. In Uganda, at least 60 percent of people under the age of 30 are jobless but possess relevant skillsets.  While in Uganda, Dux and his team helped to build out labs and exercises for the children at the school, provided laptops and other equipment for the class, and raised money with the help of friends and the community. You can read more about Dux’s story on the Windows Insider Blog.

As we continue to grow our AvePoint Philanthropy initiative, there is lots more to come in terms of software donation, technology education, and community outreach. We believe that technology is one of the most valuable commodities that exists and all deserve the opportunity to take advantage of it. We will continue to provide technology and technical knowledge to the underprivileged and underfunded to help drive positive change.
