In order to view the Error Page for Archived Data feature for a specified Web application through SharePoint Central Administration, make sure the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application service has started on the SharePoint Central Administration server before you install the SP2010ErrorPageforArchivedData.wsp solution in DocAve Solution Manager.

If the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application service has not started before you install and deploy the solution, you can run the STSADM command line on any Web front-end server to manually activate this feature after deploying the SP2010ErrorPageforArchivedData.wsp solution through DocAve Solution Manager.

To activate this feature, complete the following steps:

  1. On any Web front-end server, navigate to Start > Run. Enter cmd in the pop-up window, and then click OK. The command window appears.
  2. In the command window, enter the cd command to switch to SharePoint’s installation path. By default, the path is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN.
  3. Enter the following command to activate the Error Page for Archived Data feature for the specified Web application: stsadm -o activatefeature -filename SP2010ErrorPageforArchivedData\Feature.xml -url webappurl.
  4. Enter the complete URL of the Web application where you want to activate this feature as the value of the "-url" parameter.
