How to Resolve the “Timer Service is Down” Error

After installation of DocAve 6, several users receive the following error (shown below) when first logging into DocAve: The timer service is down, which may cause the manager service stop working. Please ensure your timer service is started.

To resolve:

  1. Go to the DocAve 6 Manager server, and open IIS Manager.
  2. Select the Application Pool referring to DocAve 6 and select Advanced Settings.app_pool_6.png
  3. Verify that App Pool user name is also in the local admin group on the DocAve6 Server. If it is not, then add the DocAve 6 account to the group.local_admin_6.png
  4. Recyle the Application Pool and restart the DocAve Timer Service.timer_6.png
  5. Re-Open the DocAve 6 Manager.
