Details:

If upgrade processes for a previous upgrade attempt are still running on the Control Server and Media Server, DocAve will not be able to start a new upgrade process for the Manager Services, and the following error appears:

ERROR 09-23 09:52:18,140 10 AvePoint.ControlPanel.Service.UpdateManager.impl.PatchFileService 0- deploy patch error : System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path ‘C:\Program Files\AvePoint\DocAve6\Manager\Media\TempPatchFile\PatchInstaller\Castle.Core.dll’ is denied. This error indicates that DocAve is not able to start upgrade processes for the Manager Services. This issue appears because upgrade processes for the previous upgrade attempt are still running on the Control Server and Media Server.

To solve this issue, find the servers that hold the DocAve Control Service, Media Service, and Report Service. Check whether the processes below are running. If yes, terminate the following processes in Task Manager and re-start the upgrade.:

  • CommonPatchInstaller.exe
  • PatchControlCLI.exe
  • ManagerToolWebContainerServer.exe
