AvePoint Enhances Mobile Content Management for Microsoft SharePoint with New Release of Perimeter

The latest release of AvePoint Perimeter provides organizations with system-wide security, granular user auditing, and Windows Phone support to create a more comprehensive SharePoint mobility solution

AvePoint (NASDAQ: AVPT), the global leader in data security, governance, and resilience, today announced the general availability of AvePoint Perimeter Service Pack (SP) 3. AvePoint Perimeter ensures that all business-critical SharePoint content is accessed by trusted users, on trusted deices, and within trusted locations.

With AvePoint Perimeter, organizations can now give users the freedom to choose how and with whom they want to collaborate – from external users to devices and locations – all while keeping sensitive digital assets in SharePoint secure. New features include:

Burglar Alarm: With the new Burglar Alarm feature, organizations enhance content safety throughout SharePoint with suspicious behavior monitoring and customizable alerts based on administrator needs. Administrators are able to monitor and proactively react to the behavior of users engaging in suspicious activity within Perimeter portals as well as the organization’s entire SharePoint environment. Activity monitoring capabilities include file sharing, authentication, logging in from non-authorized locations, and SharePoint content downloads.

Granular User Auditing: Daily User Tracking provides additional record keeping functionality with granular, exportable reports of SharePoint activities – including content access, sharing, and downloads – within a specified duration for individual SharePoint users. Administrators can now also track user activity no matter what operating system a user has – including iOS, Android or Windows Phone – in order to provide organizations with a comprehensive view of how all SharePoint content is being accessed.

Windows Phone Support: Users can now use their Windows Phone for secure remote SharePoint access via Perimeter’s two-factor authentication functionality. Registered mobile devices serve as authentication tokens for access to content secured with location-based access policies.

“Work is no longer confined within the walls of an office or even tethered to a computer. Employees will work when and where it suits their needs,” said Dux Raymond Sy, Chief Technology Officer, AvePoint Public Sector. “The newest features in AvePoint Perimeter allow organizations to encourage these new work habits without compromising the safety of their content.”

AvePoint Perimeter SP 3 is generally available today, September 16, 2014. For more information on the new features, please visit our website.
