Understand the AvePoint Privacy Impact Assessment System Firsthand
During the IAPP P.S.R. Conference, AvePoint will reveal the latest release of the AvePoint Privacy Impact Assessment System (APIA), developed by AvePoint and distributed exclusively by IAPP, that fully integrates an advanced GDPR Detailed Assessment developed with assistance from Microsoft. The GDPR Detailed Assessment helps organizations and their service providers gauge GDPR compliance progress and identifies where they are on the journey to GDPR readiness. With newly integrated reporting and trend analysis, APIA allows organizations to track their progress and improvements over time, and provides recommendations to close any existing gaps that are categorized into the areas of people, process, and technology.

Conference attendees can see APIA and the new GDPR Detailed Assessment in action on Tuesday, October 17 from 12:25-12:40 in Harbor D, and meet demonstrators/experts Dana Simberkoff, AvePoint Chief Risk, Privacy and Information Security Officer and Denis Heliszkowski, Senior Partner Marketing Manager at Microsoft.

“Trust is central to Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We take a principled approach with strong commitments to make sure our customers can trust the digital technology they use,” said Giovanni Mezgec, General Manager, Office Marketing at Microsoft. “As part of our commitment to accelerate customers’ journey of compliance with the GDPR, we have developed the Microsoft GDPR Detailed Assessment, to facilitate understanding and formulate an action plan based on the needs of their environment.”

Distributed to the global privacy community exclusively by the IAPP, APIA is a technology solution that mitigates the risk inherent with manual privacy impact assessments, helping organizations to better protect personally identifiable information. APIA helps organizations understand and automate the process of evaluating, assessing, and reporting on the privacy implications of their enterprise IT systems.

“APIA is the perfect tool for organizations and privacy professionals to examine where they are regarding GDPR, which will be in place in less than a year. APIA uncovers potential risks and impacts, and eases trepidation about next steps to become fully compliant,” said Simberkoff. “The first step is to determine what information exists. APIA does this for you and allows organizations to instead focus efforts on how to get prepared. APIA essentially does the preliminary legwork.”

AvePoint will also demo new releases of Compliance Guardian and RiskIntel, two products that align well in the privacy and security space. Visit Booth #35 to speak with AvePoint experts about these products.

Compliance Guardian protects data throughout its entire lifecycle and automates permissions and governance. New to Compliance Guardian is a GDPR risk calculator and support of Slack and Dropbox, which adds to an extensive list of platforms that integrate with the solution, including SharePoint on-premises and online; Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business and Yammer in Office 365.

RiskIntel allows organizations to discover how well their IT systems stand up to the latest privacy regulations. It automates privacy and impact assessments around threshold and data protection. RiskIntel identifies the appropriate controls to protect personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive information, and meets key requirements for global privacy legislation, including the GDPR, as well as ISO 27001 and 27002.
